Right now Oona is going through a repeating phase, as in

You people with kids can just continue with these little anecditties. They're like extra birth control for the rest of us.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites with Leo is "No Ratatouille, No Ratatouille"! said with a very distraught look on his face. Kids learn by repeating, not anyway around that for parents really. Leo will be 2.5 years the end of Feb and he is not really doing that as much anymore so you do have some light at the end of the tunnel. One afternoon I was babysitting him he stops playing, grabs my hand, and says "Come On Nanny! Let's Get Cake"! (The exclamation marks are Very important!) Although being a Grandparent is a a lot different because we can have breaks.

ReplyDeleteOnce she is of a certain age, she will sing along to God-awful popular music. She will repeat lyrics so banal that it will decrease your IQ. And you will sing them too. And hum them before you drop off to sleep.
ReplyDeleteAt least the poo episodes will diminish.
