tell me what you know; mixed media on canvas, 16 x 16 inches
in my dreams, I'm a king; mixed media on canvas, 16 x 16 inches
new fox, new world; mixed media on canvas, 16 x 16 inches
Three paintings I've recently completed for my upcoming open house (October 25th, Sydenham Street Studios, 178 Sydenham). The string series continues.
(I had an earlier post for Illustration Friday – the commodore, below – but Penelope's site wouldn't accept an icon, and without an icon no one will ever see it (click on it), because that's just the way people operate, I'm afraid.)
Some other things ...
x} It's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. I'm going to Toronto to meet C's Uncle David, read books about Disney princesses to people named Mei Mei, eat turkey, get into fights over Scrabble.
x} In the old days they'd let us go early (from work) on the Friday afternoon of a long weekend, but here I sit.
x} The latest Economist has an editorial about why American troops should stay in Iraq – because their departure will make things worse. Good point. But what if their presence can't manage to make things better? Ever?
x} Absentmindedly/compulsively touching my face while being on the computer has resulted in the kind of unidentified pustule/bleb on my cheek that you can actually feel all the time, just sitting there, pulsating. Nice!
x} On Survivor last night they were doing these weird freeze-frame action shots. Not cool. C laughed when the Sister Christian went home.
x} The Leafs dropped their first two games, both to the hated Senators. Paul Maurice will lose his job by the end of the season.
x} C is addicted to Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Scarily, every time I go to watch something, the timer's already set for the next episode.

Icon uploads were down for about fifteen minutes after we activated the topic this morning - as you likely noticed, since you were able to post this link with an icon. Very lovely work, I like the playing card iconography with some texture.
ReplyDeletethe string is great! adds texture, contrast and interesting interpretations!
ReplyDeleteWonderful new work ! The top one I recognize from another post I think ?! If that's possible.Hope your show is spectacular !
ReplyDeleteAhh, the things you only find out when you live with someone.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the open house
I have a new blog - it's here:

I like to talk about the Iraq war as much as I can with students here, just to see what their perspective is. Interestingly enough, the only real "opinion" Ive heard about it is that Japan is unsettled that they have to give the USA oil and the USA is using it for the war... or something like that in broken English.
ReplyDeleteIn conclusion, Japanese people rarely have opinions and your life sounds exciting with that new TV of yours.
Hi. Thank you for your comment.
ReplyDeleteI really like these. The strings create a cool effect. Nice work:)
