for illustration friday ... {snap}

This illo is from a story called Free Rein (published in Prairie Fire ), which is about a philanderer and degenerate gambler who is about to ... snap.

for illo friday night ...

This one went to IFN, about uselessness and hiding in the house.

... something that is ... not even there.

red skull

This is for a short story called Red Skull . (I know, his skull is not red.)

two polly jean's

I have a story called Polly Jean coming out in the next issue of the Windsor Review, along with an illo by my brother Jon. That's his painting on the bottom. The drawing above it is mine. It's for the same story, only now it's part of a collection, so the illo has to match what I've done for the others.

some bad guys

I put up this image for Illustration Friday Night .

total(itarian) ... {for illustration friday}

Another old picture of one of my favourite dictators (so totally good at all the hellfire killing).

nothing works

Or at least Blogger doesn't. Right now it can't process pictures. And considering I'm at least half about the pictures, this new development doesn't do me a fuck of a lot of good.

... for sound (and just about everything else). Wish I was.

bring out your dead

'A' gave me this plant. She paid $2. It's dying now. When you're in your twenties the way you dwell on death is abstract and romantic and total bullshit. It's not until your thirties - when the headaches and stomachaches and backaches and variously charming breakdowns start to follow you around (home from work, out to the pub, into bed at night) - that you really start to get a taste for it.

trades are in

My trades ( She Watches at bottom, Eve and Adam and The Temptress in the middle, and Green Angel at the top) are all in, and I'm quite happy with them.

studio 22

Went to the last salon event at Studio 22 last Friday. The weather messed around with the attendance but that just made more room to wander and look and enjoy the jazz flute (Glenn Tooth). The top piece is by my friend Phileen.

illustration friday night ...

So: I was invited to join this evil-sister site of Illustration Friday called Illustration Friday Night ... it's a wee bit darker ... this is a typical entry, under the title of 'meat machines' ...

for illustration friday ... {hide}

Keep looking for who's hiding.
